Matthew wanted to join Progressive Black Men, Incorporated in order to be surrounded by like-minded individuals who were all focused on getting the most out of their college education and being successful in life. He believes it’s important to surround himself with driven, hard-working people because he is who he surrounds himself with.

Matthew's family is Jamaican, and he has always been very family-oriented. He loves playing sports, especially soccer, and has played his whole life. Matthew is very interested in working in the medical field because he has always loved the feeling of being able to directly positively impact someone’s life.

Matthew has participated as a general member in Progressive Black Men, as well as CaribSA Programs Director.
During his time at the University of Florida, Matthew has participated in organizations such as
CaribSA and Men’s Club Soccer.
